Our crew responds on what could be considered someone’s worst day. In our 2024/25 season we responded to (56) calls of which (48) were on Hwy #1. Some were medical assists however there were (7) fatalities and 50% of the calls required technical skills of extrication or rope rescue.
Our member training is scenario based that places the crew in potential situations found in the field. The results create a strong model and skill set. Every training session builds upon previous experiences allowing us to refine our technical skills, strengthen decisions made in the field while ensuring safe and effective rescue operations.
We routinely train alongside other fire departments in our region (Area E) and our emergency partners to ensure seamless coordination, effective communication - building trust and familiarity that is required to focus and operate effectively in complex incidents.
EVR crew is the only group that provides enhanced rescue capabilities of vehicle extrication and rope rescue in our region and we
working seamlessly with emergency partners to ensure we respond effectively whenever our community or the vast number of travelers on our highways need us.
